Find related keywords, synonyms, autocomplete suggestions, associated words, broader and narrower terms, adjectives and nouns that are often used together, words that often follow or come before your term, antonyms, rhymes, sound-alikes and spelling matches for any seed keyword. Each result comes with its rank, relevance score, word count, part of speech, syllables and how common the word is in English (frequency per million words). Results come from the free Datamuse word-finding API. You can enter many seed keywords and relation types in one run, add a topic hint to steer results, and filter out rare words. No login or API key is needed.

Who is it for?

  • SEO specialists and content marketers brainstorming semantic keywords, LSI terms and content outlines.
  • Copywriters and brand namers looking for synonyms, associations and catchy rhymes.
  • Product and app teams building search suggestions, tag clouds or word games.
  • Teachers, students and writers expanding their vocabulary.

How to use it

  1. Enter one or more seed keywords (the default is running shoes).
  2. Choose the relations you want (related meaning, autocomplete and synonyms by default).
  3. Optionally add a topic hint and a minimum frequency, set Max results per relation and click Start.

Input example

{"keywords": ["coffee", "espresso machine"], "relations": ["related", "triggers", "adjectives", "autocomplete"], "topic": "kitchen", "maxResultsPerRelation": 100}

Output example

{"keyword": "running shoes", "relation": "related", "relationLabel": "Related meaning", "result": "road spikes", "rank": 1, "score": 20047806, "wordCount": 2, "partsOfSpeech": "noun", "syllables": 2}

How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee per keyword result returned, plus a tiny per-run start fee. There is no subscription and no separate platform usage cost. For example, 1,000 results cost about $0.30. Searches with no matches and error rows are not charged. Use Max results per relation or Maximum cost per run to cap your spending.

Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.

FAQ

Is it legal? Yes. Datamuse offers its API for free public use without a key, up to 100,000 requests per day. This tool makes only a few requests per seed keyword. The results are general words, not personal data. It is not affiliated with Datamuse.

Does it show search volume? No. It shows how common a word is in general English (frequency per million words), not how often it is searched on Google.

Why do some relations return few results? Multi-word phrases often have fewer synonyms or rhymes. Try single words, or use the related-meaning and associated-words relations.

Can I use wildcards? Yes. With the spelled-like relation, use * and ?. For example, "s*ing" finds words that start with s and end with ing.
