USPTO Trademark Scraper | Search, Status, Owners and Deadlines (2026)
From SilentFlow. Creators of Pinterest Scraper (#1 for โpinterest pins scraperโ in Apify Store search) and Leboncoin Scraper Ppe, with 240,000+ combined lifetime runs.
Turn the US trademark register into a spreadsheet: search more than 13 million USPTO records by brand name, owner or product, or paste serial numbers and TSDR links, and get one row per mark with its status, owner and address, Nice classes, goods and services, key dates and logo. Type a name and press Start: no USPTO account, no API key, no clicking through TSDR one record at a time.
Why choose this actor?
Checking names one by one in Trademark Search before a launch? Copying statuses out of TSDR tabs into a spreadsheet for a client docket? Getting back a mark, a serial number and a date, then opening every record to find who owns it and in which classes?
- 33 to 37 filled fields per row, not 8. On the default run (
nike, 50 marks, 28 September 2026), 37 of the 46 fields of a row carry a value on at least half of the rows, and 33 do on the newest filings read with an empty form. Every row names the current owner with entity, citizenship and full address, lists every Nice and US class, the goods and services text, the drawing type, the filing basis, first use, publication and registration dates, the attorney, the logo and the TSDR and document links. Turn on the status history option and a row reaches 52 filled fields, with the maintenance deadlines and the attorney's email. The most used USPTO actor of the Store shows 8 keys per phrase. - Keywords, numbers and links in the same run. Type brand names, paste serial or registration numbers (
97123456,Reg. No. 1,237,469), or drop TSDR and Trademark Search links straight from an email or a spreadsheet, and mix all three: each mark is delivered once, labelled with what you typed. Our test run on 12 numbers and links returned 11 marks in 1 second and named the one number that matches no trademark. The most used USPTO actor of the Store takes keywords only. - Nothing to fill in before the first run. No field is required. Leave the form empty and you get the newest applications filed at the USPTO: 100 marks in 3 seconds on our test, the newest filed the day before. Add a class and a date and it becomes a weekly watch: 1,293 new clothing applications (class 25) filed in the last 7 days. The most used USPTO actor of the Store refuses to start without its list of phrases.
Try your first trademark search
Paste this input in the JSON tab, or keep the prefilled form and press Start. It returns the 50 marks closest to NIKE, exact matches first and live Nike, Inc. registrations at the top. It took 1 second on our test run.
{"keywords": ["nike"],"maxItems": 50}
Runs on the Apify Free plan: sign up, open the actor, press Start. Each trademark lands as one row of the dataset, which you can open as a table, download as CSV, Excel or JSON, or read from the API. Change nike for your own brand name, add a class and a status filter, and run again.

How to scrape USPTO trademark data
Three inputs, from a quick name check to a weekly filing watch. Each one runs as is.
Check whether a slogan is a live trademark
A print-on-demand seller's check before listing a design. Only live marks (registered or pending) are kept, exact matches first. On our test, just do it matched 80 live marks, the exact JUST DO IT marks in the first rows.
{"keywords": ["just do it"],"status": "live","maxItems": 100}
Map every mark a company owns
Search the owner name instead of the mark name to list a portfolio. Lucasfilm as owner, live only, returned 609 marks on our test: STAR WARS titles, INDUSTRIAL LIGHT & MAGIC, SKYWALKER SOUND and the rest, each with its classes, dates and the current owner.
{"keywords": ["Lucasfilm"],"searchIn": "owner","status": "live","maxItems": 1000}
Get this week's new applications in your class
No keyword at all: the run lists the newest filings. With class 25 and the last 7 days, our test found 1,293 new clothing applications, filed up to the day before the run.
{"classes": ["25"],"filedAfter": "7 days","maxItems": 2000}
Input parameters
| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
keywords | array of strings | ["nike"] in the form | Brand names, slogans or words, one per line. Exact matches first, then marks containing every word. |
trademarkIds | array of strings | none | Serial numbers (8 digits) or registration numbers (up to 7 digits). Always returned, whatever the filters say. |
startUrls | array of {url} | none | TSDR and Trademark Search links that carry a serial or registration number. |
searchIn | select | mark | Where keywords are looked for: mark name, owner name, goods and services, or everywhere. |
maxItems | integer | 100 | Total rows for the run, across every keyword, number and link. No fixed upper limit. |
status | select | all | All, live (registered or pending), registered, pending applications, or dead. |
classes | array | all classes | Nice classes 1 to 45. A mark is kept when it is filed in at least one of them. |
filedAfter | date | none | Keep marks filed on or after a date (2026-01-01) or within a period (7 days, 3 months). |
sortBy | select | relevance | Relevance, newest filing first, or oldest filing first. |
includeDetails | boolean | false | Adds the case file: plain-English status and date, maintenance deadlines, attorney and correspondent contacts, 20 latest events, oppositions. |
Accepted numbers and links
- A serial number:
97123456,97-123,456,sn97123456,Serial No. 97/123456. Every application has one. - A registration number:
1237469,Reg. No. 1,237,469,RN 978952. Numbers shorter than 7 digits are read with their leading zeros (978952is registration0978952). - A TSDR link:
https://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=97123456&caseSearchType=US_APPLICATION&caseType=DEFAULT&searchType=statusSearch,https://tsdr.uspto.gov/statusview/sn97123456,https://tsdr.uspto.gov/statusview/rn1237469, or a document linkhttps://tsdr.uspto.gov/documentviewer?caseId=sn97123456. - A Trademark Search link:
https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/search/search-results/97123456. - An Assignment Center link:
https://assignmentcenter.uspto.gov/search/trademark?serialNumber=97123456.
Hundreds of numbers are read in one request. A number that matches no trademark is named in the run log and simply produces no row.
Search syntax for power users
A keyword written in the register's own field syntax is sent as is: WM:coffee AND IC:030 (word mark containing coffee, in class 30) returned 5,518 live marks on our test. The status, class and date filters of the form still apply on top.
What data can you extract from the USPTO?
Every row describes one trademark application or registration, with 46 fields in six groups, plus 14 fields when the status history option is on.
| Group | Fields | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Identity (5) | id, serialNumber, registrationNumber, url, wordmark | The serial number is the stable key. url opens the TSDR status page. |
| Status and mark (17) | status, statusCode, statusDescription, isLive, isRegistered, markType, drawingType, isStandardCharacters, markDescription, internationalClasses, usClasses, goodsAndServices, disclaimer, translation, designCodes, filingBasis, registrationType | Live or dead, the exact USPTO status, standard characters or design, every class and the goods and services as filed. |
| Owner (9) | ownerName, ownerType, ownerEntity, ownerCitizenship, ownerAddress, ownerCity, ownerCountry, owners, attorney | The current owner in plain columns, and every owner on file in owners, oldest first. |
| Dates (9) | filingDate, registrationDate, publicationDate, firstUseDate, firstUseInCommerceDate, abandonDate, cancelDate, renewalDate, lastUpdatedAt | RFC 3339 in UTC, null when the event has not happened. |
| Links (4) | imageUrl, documentsUrl, assignmentsUrl, proceedings | The mark image, the documents of the case, assignments when some are recorded, and opposition or cancellation proceedings. |
| Meta (2) | searchQuery, scrapedAt | The keyword, number or link that produced the row, and when it was read. |
| Case file (14, optional) | statusText, statusDate, statusCategory, attorneyEmail, correspondentName, correspondentEmail, correspondentAddress, maintenanceWindowOpens, maintenanceDeadline, maintenanceGraceDeadline, lastEvent, lastEventDate, prosecutionHistory, assignmentsCount | The status in plain English and its date, the Section 8 and 9 filing window and deadlines, who to contact, and the 20 latest events of the case. |
Usability facts: serialNumber never changes and identifies the mark across runs. url, documentsUrl and imageUrl are permanent USPTO addresses. Classes are three-digit strings ("025"), registration numbers keep their 7 digits ("0978952"). A design-only mark has wordmark set to null and its image in imageUrl. With the status history option off, the 14 case file fields are left out of the row rather than filled with null.

Advanced usage
Five recipes for the jobs the examples above do not show. Each input runs as is.
Watch a keyword for new applications every week
Schedule this input weekly in the Apify Console. Newest first with a 7-day window returns only the marks filed since the last run, so the dataset of each run is the week's new conflicts to review.
{"keywords": ["glow"],"sortBy": "newest","filedAfter": "7 days","maxItems": 500}
Audit the deadlines of a portfolio
Owner search, registered marks only, with the case file: every row carries the Section 8 and 9 filing window (maintenanceWindowOpens, maintenanceDeadline, maintenanceGraceDeadline), the attorney's email and the last event of the case. Sort the dataset on maintenanceDeadline to see what is due first. Our test read 25 Lucasfilm marks with their case files in 35 seconds.
{"keywords": ["Lucasfilm"],"searchIn": "owner","status": "registered","includeDetails": true,"maxItems": 200}
Refresh the status of a client docket
Paste the serial and registration numbers of a docket, or the TSDR links you keep in a spreadsheet. Every number comes back whatever the filters say, with its current status, owner and the latest events, in the order you gave them.
{"trademarkIds": ["98029846", "73361064", "Reg. No. 978,952"],"startUrls": [{ "url": "https://tsdr.uspto.gov/statusview/sn99607521" }],"includeDetails": true}
Find every mark filed for a product
Search the goods and services text instead of the mark: electric bicycles appears in 10,406 marks of the register. Newest first, our test read 700 of them in 3 seconds, across two pages, with no duplicate.
{"keywords": ["electric bicycles"],"searchIn": "goods","sortBy": "newest","maxItems": 700}
Narrow a clearance search with the register's syntax
Combine the field syntax with the form filters for a precise knock-out list: word marks containing coffee in class 30, live only. On our test this matched 5,518 marks, exact and closest names first.
{"keywords": ["WM:coffee AND IC:030"],"status": "live","maxItems": 1000}
FAQ
What is the USPTO? The United States Patent and Trademark Office is the federal agency that examines and registers trademarks in the United States. Its register holds live and dead marks, from registrations of the 1920s to applications filed yesterday: more than 13 million records. This actor reads that public register, the same data you see in USPTO Trademark Search and TSDR.
What does the scraper return for each trademark? One row per application or registration with 46 fields: serial and registration numbers, the mark, live or dead status and the exact USPTO status, mark type and drawing, Nice and US classes, the goods and services text, the current owner with address and every previous owner, the attorney, all key dates, the image and the TSDR links. The status history option adds 14 more: plain-English status and date, maintenance deadlines, attorney and correspondent contacts, the 20 latest events and the opposition proceedings.
Do I need a USPTO account or an API key? No. The register is public. The actor runs from the prefilled form as is, and no field is required.
How fresh is the data?
Every run reads the register live, with no cache. The lastUpdatedAt field shows when the USPTO last updated each record. New applications show up quickly: on 28 September 2026 the newest filings in the results were filed on 27 September.
How many trademarks can I get in one run?
There is no fixed limit: set maxItems to what you need. A search ordered by relevance reads up to 10,000 marks per keyword; ordered by newest or oldest filing it goes further. Numbers and links are read hundreds at a time.
What is the difference between live, registered, pending and dead?
Live marks still count: registered marks, and pending applications that have not been refused or abandoned. Dead marks were abandoned, cancelled or expired. isLive, isRegistered and statusDescription are on every row, so you can also filter after the run.
Can I combine keywords and filters?
Yes, and they add up. searchIn: owner with status: registered, classes: ["9", "42"] and filedAfter: "1 year" returns the software and technology marks an owner registered from applications filed in the last 12 months. Numbers and links are the exception: they always come back, unfiltered.
Why is wordmark empty on some rows?
Those are design-only marks, a logo with no words. Their picture is in imageUrl, and designCodes describes what it shows.
Does a matching live mark mean my name is not available? Not by itself. The rows are the register's data, not a legal opinion: whether two marks conflict depends on similarity, goods and services and more. Use the rows to build the list, and have a trademark attorney judge the conflicts.
How does the status history option change the run? It adds one lookup per mark, so a run reads about 40 marks per minute (25 in 35 seconds on our test) instead of hundreds per second. When a case file cannot be read, the row still ships with its 46 register fields and the run log says so.
Are the links in the rows permanent?
Yes. url, documentsUrl, imageUrl and the document links of the history are permanent USPTO addresses, safe to store in a database or a CRM.
Can I run it on a schedule and send the results somewhere? Yes. Save an input as a task, schedule it daily or weekly in the Apify Console, and connect the dataset to Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make or your own code through the Apify API.

Legal compliance
This Actor extracts publicly available data from the United States Patent and Trademark Office register. It does not bypass any login, paywall or CAPTCHA. Users are responsible for complying with the USPTO's terms of use and applicable data protection laws (GDPR in the European Union, CCPA in California, and PIPL in China where relevant). Trademark records can contain personal data: applicants who file as individuals appear with their name and address, and the status history option adds attorney and correspondent names and email addresses. Handle those fields accordingly, for example when contacting owners. The data returned is informational and is not legal advice: verify the official record before any filing, opposition or other regulated use.
USPTO Trademark Scraper by SilentFlow: every US trademark, its owner and its status, in one table.
