Snapchat Videos Scraper | Spotlight Videos, MP4 Downloads, Views and Likes (2026)

1 keyword. 20 Snapchat videos. 24 fields per video.

From SilentFlow. Creators of Pinterest Scraper and Leboncoin Scraper, with 420,000+ combined lifetime runs.

Turn a keyword, a hashtag or a creator into a table of public Snapchat Spotlight videos: the MP4 file, the views, likes, comments and shares, the creator, the caption, the hashtags and the date, one row per video. Type funny, press Start: 20 videos in about 2 seconds on our test run, with no Snapchat account and nothing else to fill in.

Why choose this actor?

Scrolling Spotlight in the app to find what works on a topic? Pasting video links one by one into a downloader that hands back a file and nothing else? Guessing how a creator's videos perform because Snapchat shows no public stats export?

  • Nothing to fill in before the first run. No field is required: the form opens with the keyword funny and 20 videos, and pressing Start returned 20 Spotlight videos in about 2 seconds on our test run of 17 October 2026. Replace funny with any topic, brand or hashtag and run again.
  • Find videos by keyword, hashtag, creator or link. Three ways in, mixed in one run: keywords and hashtags, Snapchat links (a video, a profile, a hashtag page or a search page) and usernames. One run with the username kyliejenner, one video link and the hashtag link #dance returned 44 videos in 4 seconds: the video you pasted, the 11 Spotlight videos the creator shows on the web, then 32 videos of #dance.
  • The numbers and the text behind each video, not just a file. Each row carries 25 data fields. On the default run, 22 of them were filled on at least half of the 20 rows and 20 on every row. They include the MP4 link and an MP4 without the Snapchat watermark, views, likes, comments, shares, recommends, publication date, length, size, creator, Snapchat's title and summary of the video, its topics, language and sound.

Try Snapchat Videos Scraper

Try your first Snapchat videos

Paste this input in the JSON tab, or keep the prefilled form and press Start. It searches Snapchat Spotlight for funny and returns the first 20 public videos with their MP4 links, counts, creator and text.

{
"keywords": ["funny"],
"maxItems": 20
}

Runs on the Apify Free plan: sign up, open the actor, press Start. Each video lands as one row of the dataset, which you can open as a table, download as CSV, Excel or JSON, or read from the API. Change funny for any topic (makeup tutorial, #cooking, dance, ضحك) and raise maxItems to 100: the hashtag page of the same words fills the run, and 100 videos of funny took 13 seconds on our test.

You have access to the Snapchat Videos Scraper on Apify: silentflow/snapchat-videos-scraper
It reads the public Spotlight videos Snapchat shows on its website (snapchat.com).
No Snapchat account is needed. One row = one public Spotlight video.
Input (all optional; give at least one of keywords / startUrls / usernames):
- keywords (array of strings): topics or hashtags, with or without #: "funny", "#dance",
"makeup tutorial", "ضحك". Each keyword reads the Snapchat search (about 20 videos) and the
hashtag page of the same words (32 videos per read, read again while it shows new videos).
- startUrls (array of strings or {"url": ...}): snapchat.com links to a video
(/spotlight/{id} or /@name/spotlight/{id}), a profile (/@name, /add/name),
a hashtag (/tag/{name}) or a search (/explore/{keyword}).
- usernames (array of strings): Snapchat creators, with or without @.
- maxItems (integer, default 100): videos to deliver in total.
- includeRelated (boolean, default false): after the inputs, add videos from the hashtags
those videos use (most used first, generic ones like #fyp skipped), then from the
Spotlight feed Snapchat plays after them, until maxItems is reached.
Output per row (27 fields):
- id (string): Snapchat's id of the video, stable
- url (string): https://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/{id}, permanent page of the video
- title (string|null): Snapchat's title of the video, else the creator's caption
- description (string|null): the creator's caption, as written
- summary (string|null): Snapchat's short description of what the video shows
- hashtags (array|null): hashtags without #
- topics (array|null): topics Snapchat detected
- language (string|null): language code Snapchat detected ("en", "hi", "ar")
- soundId (string|null): id of the sound used
- author (string|null), authorName (string|null), authorUrl (string|null): creator
- viewCount, likeCount, commentCount, shareCount, recommendCount (integer|null)
- publishedAt (string|null): RFC 3339 UTC
- duration (number|null): seconds
- videoUrl (string): MP4 file
- videoUrlNoWatermark (string|null): MP4 without the Snapchat watermark, when served
- thumbnailUrl (string|null): preview image
- width, height (integer|null): video size in pixels
- transcriptUrl (string|null): WebVTT transcript, when Snapchat has one
- searchQuery (string): the keyword, link or username the row came from
- scrapedAt (string): RFC 3339 UTC
Use apify-client for Python or JavaScript, or the Apify API.

How to scrape Snapchat Spotlight videos

Three inputs, from the simplest to a mixed run. Each one runs as is in the JSON tab.

Get the top Spotlight videos for a topic

One keyword is enough. The search and the hashtag page of the same word come back as rows, the most watched first in the table once you sort by viewCount.

{
"keywords": ["funny"],
"maxItems": 100
}

On our test run this returned 100 videos in 13 seconds: 20 from the Snapchat search and 80 from #funny, which Snapchat shows as a sample that changes from one read to the next.

Pull every web video of a few creators

List the usernames, with or without @. Each creator gives the Spotlight videos their public profile shows on Snapchat's website, with today's views and likes.

{
"usernames": ["kyliejenner", "@truss_hair"],
"maxItems": 100
}

kyliejenner showed 11 Spotlight videos on the web on 17 October 2026, each with its caption, sound and transcript link when Snapchat has one.

Links and usernames are read first, in the order you give them, then the keywords. A video asked twice comes back once.

{
"startUrls": [
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/@truss_hair/spotlight/W7_EDlXWTBiXAEEniNoMPwAAYaGlrbGh2YWRyAY_uezdJAY_uemXNAAAAAw" },
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/tag/dance" }
],
"usernames": ["kyliejenner"],
"maxItems": 60
}

This returned 44 videos in 4 seconds on our test run: the video of the link, 11 videos of kyliejenner and 32 videos of #dance.

Input parameters

FieldTypeDefaultWhat it does
keywordsarray of strings["funny"] in the formTopics or hashtags, with or without #. Each one reads the Snapchat search and the hashtag page of the same words.
startUrlsarray of linksnoneVideo, profile, hashtag or search links from snapchat.com.
usernamesarray of stringsnoneSnapchat creators, with or without @.
maxItemsinteger100 (20 in the form)Stop after this many videos, across all inputs.
includeRelatedbooleanfalseAdd videos from related hashtags, then from the Spotlight feed, until maxItems.

No field is required: give at least one keyword, link or username.

Formats accepted:

  • Keywords: funny, #funny, makeup tutorial (searched as typed, hashtag #makeuptutorial), other scripts too (ضحك, طبخ). Snapchat searches about 50 Latin letters at most, so a longer keyword is searched by its first words.
  • Video links: https://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/W7_EDlX..., https://www.snapchat.com/@truss_hair/spotlight/W7_EDlX..., with or without ?share_id=... from the app's share button.
  • Profile links: https://www.snapchat.com/@kyliejenner, https://www.snapchat.com/add/kyliejenner, https://story.snapchat.com/@kyliejenner.
  • Hashtag links: https://www.snapchat.com/tag/funny. Search links: https://www.snapchat.com/explore/funny.
  • Usernames: kyliejenner, @KylieJenner, or a profile link pasted in the username box.

What data can you extract from Snapchat?

Every row is one public Spotlight video, with 25 data fields and 2 fields that say where and when it was read. Fields Snapchat does not show for a video are null, never an empty string.

GroupFieldsNotes
Identityid, url, titleid and url are stable: the same video always has the same row key.
Contentdescription, summary, hashtags, topics, language, soundIddescription is the creator's caption; title and summary are Snapchat's own title and description of what the video shows.
Creatorauthor, authorName, authorUrlUsername, display name and profile link.
CountsviewCount, likeCount, commentCount, shareCount, recommendCountThe numbers Snapchat shows next to the video at the time of the run.
TimepublishedAt, durationRFC 3339 UTC date, length in seconds.
MediavideoUrl, videoUrlNoWatermark, thumbnailUrl, width, height, transcriptUrlMP4 files, preview image, size in pixels, WebVTT transcript.
TrackingsearchQuery, scrapedAtThe input the row came from, and when it was read.

How often each field was filled on our test runs of 17 October 2026:

  • Default run (funny, 20 videos): 20 fields on all 20 rows, title on 18, summary on 17, description on 8, hashtags on 7.
  • Creator, video link and #dance (44 videos): title, topics, counts and date on all 44, description on 40, hashtags on 33, transcriptUrl on 8.
  • Two keywords with related videos (300 videos): counts, date, length and MP4 on all 300, hashtags on 293, description on 294, videoUrlNoWatermark on 41.

videoUrlNoWatermark comes with the videos of the Snapchat search: it was filled on all 20 rows of the default run. Hashtag, profile and video pages give the watermarked MP4 only. transcriptUrl is there when Snapchat transcribed the speech of the video.

"scrapedAt": "2026-10-17T00:18:39Z"
}

The dataset opens on four views: Videos (preview, title, creator, views, likes, date and links), Engagement (every count with length and date), Captions and topics (title, caption, summary, hashtags, topics, language) and Video files (MP4 links with and without watermark, size, transcript).

Advanced usage

Five recipes for the runs the examples above do not show. Each JSON runs as is.

Turn on related videos and give a high maxItems: after your keywords, the run reads the hashtags those videos use most, then the Spotlight feed.

{
"keywords": ["makeup tutorial", "#cooking"],
"includeRelated": true,
"maxItems": 300
}

On our test run this returned 300 videos in 37 seconds. After #makeuptutorial and #cooking, it read #makeup, #food, #recipe, #foodlover, #desifood, #foodie, #beauty, #indianfood and #eyeliner. Generic hashtags such as #fyp, #viral or #trending are never followed, so the board stays on topic.

Download a list of Spotlight videos you already have

Paste the links your team collected, from the website or from the app's share button. Each one gives one row with its MP4 links and today's numbers; a video pasted twice is read once.

{
"startUrls": [
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/@truss_hair/spotlight/W7_EDlXWTBiXAEEniNoMPwAAYaGlrbGh2YWRyAY_uezdJAY_uemXNAAAAAw" },
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/W7_EDlXWTBiXAEEniNoMPwAAYdnR4eHJ6YXFjAZ9jqOLlAZ9jqIFXAAAAAQ?share_id=team" },
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/W7_EDlXWTBiXAEEniNoMPwAAYcnp5bnpibGtmAZMAEMHRAZMADIpLAAAAAQ" }
],
"maxItems": 50
}

On our test run this returned 2 rows in about a second: the third video is no longer shown on Snapchat's website, so it gives no row and the log names it. Download the files from the Video files view, or loop over videoUrl in your own script.

Grow one viral video into a sample of what Spotlight plays next

One video link with related videos on adds the videos of its hashtags when it has some, then the videos Snapchat plays after it in the Spotlight feed.

{
"startUrls": [
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/@truss_hair/spotlight/W7_EDlXWTBiXAEEniNoMPwAAYaGlrbGh2YWRyAY_uezdJAY_uemXNAAAAAw" }
],
"includeRelated": true,
"maxItems": 50
}

This returned 50 videos in 3 seconds on our test run (this video has no hashtag, so they all came from the feed). The Spotlight feed is a mix of popular videos rather than a topic, so for a topic use keywords.

Monitor a list of creators every week

Save this input as a task and schedule it weekly in the Apify Console. Each run returns the creators' web videos with fresh counts (16 videos, 11 and 5, in about a second on our test run); compare viewCount and likeCount by id from one run to the next to see what grows.

{
"usernames": ["kyliejenner", "truss_hair"],
"maxItems": 200
}

Send the dataset to Google Sheets, a webhook or your warehouse with the Apify integrations, and sort by publishedAt to spot new videos.

Cover a market in its own language

Keywords and hashtags work in other scripts than Latin. Arabic topics such as ضحك (laughing) and طبخ (cooking) give the videos of Arabic-speaking audiences, and language tells you what Snapchat detected in each video.

{
"keywords": ["ضحك", "طبخ"],
"startUrls": [
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/tag/makeup" },
{ "url": "https://www.snapchat.com/explore/makeup%20tutorial" }
],
"maxItems": 150
}

On our test run this returned 150 videos in 14 seconds, 40 of them detected as Arabic. Hashtag links read the hashtag page only, search links the Snapchat search only, and keywords both.

FAQ

What is Snapchat Spotlight? Spotlight is Snapchat's public short-video feed, its answer to TikTok and Instagram Reels. Anyone can post vertical videos there, and Snapchat shows them on snapchat.com as well as in the app. This actor reads the Spotlight videos Snapchat shows on its website.

Do I need a Snapchat account? No. The actor reads only what Snapchat shows to any visitor of snapchat.com. No login, no API key, nothing to connect.

How many videos can I get for one keyword? The Snapchat search lists about 20 videos for a keyword. The hashtag page of the same words lists 32 videos per read, and some hashtags show a different sample at each read: #funny gave 97 different videos over eight reads on our test. Others, such as #dance, show the same 32 each time. Turn on includeRelated to go further: two keywords reached 300 videos in 37 seconds on our test.

Can I download the videos without the Snapchat watermark? When Snapchat serves one, yes: videoUrlNoWatermark is a second MP4 without the "Snapchat @username" mark. Snapchat serves it with the videos of its search (every row of our default run), not with hashtag, profile or video pages. videoUrl, the watermarked MP4, is on every row.

How long do the MP4 links work? They are Snapchat's own media links. A video link taken from an old public example still played on 17 October 2026, but Snapchat can take a file down, for example when the creator deletes the video, so download what you need to keep. id and url stay the same forever and let you find the video again.

Why does a creator show fewer videos than in the app? Snapchat's website shows only part of a creator's Spotlight videos: kyliejenner showed 11 on the web on 17 October 2026. The actor returns every video the public profile shows on the web. Private accounts and the friends-only parts of the app are never read.

Why did a video link give no row? Snapchat no longer shows that video on its website: it was deleted, made private, or never shared to the web. The log names the link and the run continues with the others. Rows are never filled with errors, so every row is a real video.

Are the counts live? Yes. Every run reads the pages at that moment, with no cache: viewCount, likeCount, commentCount, shareCount and recommendCount are the numbers Snapchat shows at the time of scrapedAt. Run the same input again to measure growth.

What are likes and recommends? likeCount is the count on the heart button of the video, recommendCount the count on Snapchat's Recommend button and shareCount the count on the share button. Comments are counted in commentCount.

What are title, summary and topics? Snapchat writes a short title, a description of what the video shows and a list of topics for many Spotlight videos. The actor returns them as title, summary and topics, next to the creator's own caption in description. When Snapchat has no title, title takes the caption.

Can I run many keywords, links and creators at once? Yes. All three fields take lists, mixed in one run. maxItems caps the total across them, and a video found twice is delivered once.

Is it legal to scrape Snapchat videos? The actor reads public pages only and does not get around any login or paywall. What you do with the videos and the personal data of creators is your responsibility: see the legal note below.

This Actor extracts publicly available data from Snapchat (snapchat.com): the Spotlight videos Snapchat shows on its website, with their counts and text. It does not bypass any login, paywall or CAPTCHA, and it does not read private accounts, private stories or messages. Users are responsible for complying with Snap's terms of service, copyright law and applicable data protection laws (GDPR in the European Union, CCPA in California and PIPL in China where relevant). Videos belong to their creators: get the rights before you republish one. Rows name individual creators, so their usernames and display names are personal data: handle them accordingly when you store or share the dataset. The data returned is informational: counts change by the minute, so date your analyses with scrapedAt.
