Sunbiz Scraper | Florida Companies, Officers and Registered Agents (2026)

Sunbiz companies, 41 fields each, from any search.

From SilentFlow. Creators of Facebook Search Scraper and Pinterest Scraper, with 570,000+ combined lifetime runs.

Every Florida company on Sunbiz, the public register of the Florida Division of Corporations, with its officers, registered agent, addresses and filing history, in rows you can sort, mail and load into your CRM. 100 companies in 21 seconds.

Why choose this actor?

Clicking through Sunbiz one company page at a time to find out who runs an LLC? Copying a mailing address, then going back to the list for the next name? Getting a spreadsheet whose addresses sit in one cell and whose dates still read 06/19/2023?

  • More data on every company. Each row has 49 columns, and on our default run (the name "coffee", 100 companies) 39 data fields were filled on more than half of the rows: document number, entity type, status and its list code, state of formation, filing date, last event and its date, the principal and the mailing address each split into street, city, state, ZIP and country, the registered agent with an address split the same way, officers, annual reports with the last year filed, and the filing history with a PDF link per document.
  • The people behind every company, not just a name. 93 of those 100 rows carried their officers, managers or directors with title and address (172 people in total), and 94 carried the registered agent. Every filing date is a real date (2023-06-19T00:00:00Z), every address is ready for a mail merge, and a value Sunbiz does not have is null, never a placeholder.
  • Seven ways in: names, numbers, people, places or a Sunbiz link. Type the first words of company names, paste Florida document numbers or FEI/EIN numbers, search by officer or registered agent, by ZIP code or by street address, or paste any search.sunbiz.org list or company page. Five numbers and one officer name returned 22 active companies in one run, and two Sunbiz links plus one ZIP code returned 120 companies in 27 seconds.

You have access to the Sunbiz Scraper on Apify: silentflow/sunbiz-scraper
It reads Sunbiz (search.sunbiz.org), the company register of the Florida Division of Corporations.
One row = one Florida company record (LLC, corporation, non-profit, limited partnership,
foreign entity registered in Florida). Trademarks, rejected filings and name reservations are left out.
Input (no field is required; give at least one of the first six):
- searches (array of strings): company names or their first words, e.g. ["coffee"]. Sunbiz lists every
company whose name starts with the words; The, Company, Inc., LLC do not count. A document number
(L11000136827) or an FEI/EIN with its dash (45-3989054) typed here is looked up directly.
- companyIds (array of strings): Florida document numbers (L11000136827, P21000012345, G43672)
or 9-digit FEI/EIN numbers (45-3989054 or 453989054).
- startUrls (array of {url}): search.sunbiz.org result lists of any search type, or company pages.
- officerNames (array of strings): "Last, First" names of officers, directors, managers or registered
agents, e.g. ["Smith, John"]. Returns every company the person is listed on.
- zipCodes (array of strings): 5-digit ZIP codes, e.g. ["33139"].
- streetAddresses (array of strings): addresses as filed, e.g. ["10220 W State Road 84"].
- status (string, default "all"): "all", "active" or "inactive".
- maxItems (integer, default 100): most companies per input (per name, number, person, ZIP, address or URL).
Output per company (49 columns, flat, null when Sunbiz has no value, dates in RFC 3339 UTC):
- id (string, = documentNumber), url (string, permanent Sunbiz page), entityName, documentNumber
- entityType (e.g. "Florida Limited Liability Company"), status ("ACTIVE"/"INACTIVE"), isActive (bool),
statusCode (list code: Active, INACT, NAME HS, RPEND/UA...), feiEinNumber, state (state or country of formation)
- filingDate, effectiveDate, lastEvent, lastEventDate, lastEventEffectiveDate, crossReferenceName, hasNameHistory (bool)
- principalAddress, principalStreet, principalCity, principalState, principalZip, principalCountry, principalAddressChangedAt
- mailingAddress, mailingStreet, mailingCity, mailingState, mailingZip, mailingCountry, mailingAddressChangedAt
- registeredAgentName, registeredAgentAddress, registeredAgentStreet, registeredAgentCity, registeredAgentState,
registeredAgentZip, registeredAgentNameChangedAt, registeredAgentAddressChangedAt
- officers (array of {title, name, documentNumber?, address, street, city, state, zip}), officerCount (int)
- matchedName (string, the officer or agent name an officer search found the company under)
- annualReports (array of {year, filedDate}), lastAnnualReportYear (int), lastAnnualReportDate
- filingHistory (array of {date, description, pdfUrl}), filingCount (int)
- searchQuery (the input that found the row), scrapedAt
Use apify-client for Python or JavaScript, or the Apify API, to run it and read the dataset.

How to scrape Sunbiz company data

Look up a list of Florida document numbers

Paste the document numbers from your CRM, an invoice or a contract. Each number returns its company record, whatever its status.

{
"companyIds": ["L11000136827", "N14993", "M22000004323"]
}

Get active LLCs and corporations whose name starts with a word

The name search reads the Sunbiz list from the first matching name to the last one. Keep the companies in good standing only, and cap the list at 300.

{
"searches": ["roofing"],
"status": "active",
"maxItems": 300
}

Find every company one person runs, and where they file

Search an officer or registered agent by last name and first name, keep the active companies, and look up their FEI/EIN numbers in the same run.

{
"officerNames": ["Herrera, Rafael"],
"companyIds": ["45-3989054"],
"status": "active",
"maxItems": 50
}

maxItemsinteger100Most companies per input: per name, number, person, ZIP code, address or URL.

No field is required. A run needs at least one name, number, person, ZIP code, address or URL, and every other setting has a working default.

Formats accepted:

  • Company names: anything you would type in the Sunbiz entity name search. coffee, Coffee Company of Miami, The Roofing Guys LLC. Sunbiz sorts names without The, Of, Company, Corporation, Inc. or LLC, so Coffee Company of Miami LLC finds every name that starts with "Coffee Miami".
  • Document numbers: the Florida filing number, a letter followed by digits for recent filings (L11000136827 for an LLC, P21000012345 for a corporation, N14993 for a non-profit, M22000004323 for a foreign LLC) or 6 digits for the oldest ones (675800). Lower case and spaces are fine, and a label like Document number: L11000136827 is read too.
  • FEI/EIN numbers: 9 digits with or without the dash, 45-3989054 or 453989054. In the names field, type them with the dash so a company called "1800 Flowers" stays a name search.
  • Officer and agent names: last name first, the way Sunbiz lists people: Smith, John, Smith John, or a company acting as agent, Corporation Service Company. A partial name is accepted and returns every name that starts with it.
  • ZIP codes: 5 digits, 33139. A ZIP+4 (33139-1234) is searched by its first 5 digits.
  • Street addresses: as written on the filings, 10220 W State Road 84. Every suite and unit at that address is included.
  • Sunbiz URLs: any search result page (https://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/CorporationSearch/SearchResults?inquiryType=EntityName&searchTerm=coffee, officer, registered agent, ZIP code, address or FEI/EIN lists, first page or a later one) and any company page (.../SearchResultDetail?...&aggregateId=...).

What data can you extract from Sunbiz?

Every row is one Florida company record. The same 49 columns are on every row, in the same order, so a CSV or a spreadsheet import never shifts.

A few things worth knowing about the data:

  • id and documentNumber are the Florida document number, which never changes for a company. url is the permanent address of the company page on Sunbiz, built from that number: it opens the same record next year.
  • Dates are RFC 3339 in UTC (2023-06-19T00:00:00Z). A date Sunbiz shows as NONE is null.
  • status is the status on the company page (ACTIVE, INACTIVE), and isActive is the same thing as true or false. statusCode is the short code of the search list (Active, INACT, INACT/UA, NAME HS for a former name, RPEND/UA for a pending reinstatement); it is null for a company read by number, by FEI/EIN or by officer search, whose lists do not carry it.
  • state is where the company was formed: FL for a Florida company, DE or another state for a foreign one registered to do business in Florida.
  • feiEinNumber is null when Sunbiz shows NONE, N/A, APPLIED FOR or a placeholder number.
  • pdfUrl links open the filing image on Sunbiz: articles of organization, annual reports, amendments, dissolutions.
  • Addresses are written as filed by the company. When the filer typed the state in the city box, the row shows it the same way, and an address with no ZIP code keeps an empty principalZip.

The dataset has three ready views: Companies (name, document number, entity type, status, city, filing date, Sunbiz page), Officers and agents (officers, registered agent and both addresses) and Filings (FEI/EIN, last event, last annual report year, number of documents). Export any of them as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML from the dataset page, or read them from the Apify API.

Advanced usage

Build a mailing list of active companies in one ZIP code

A ZIP code returns every company Sunbiz files there. Keep the active ones and take the mailing address columns into your mail merge.

{
"zipCodes": ["33139"],
"status": "active",
"maxItems": 500
}

Check a vendor or customer list by FEI/EIN

Paste the EINs from your vendor master file. Each number returns the Florida companies filed under it, with their status and last annual report year, so a dissolved supplier stands out before the next payment.

{
"companyIds": ["45-3989054", "59-2789167"],
"maxItems": 10
}

See every company registered at one address

Coworking spaces, virtual offices and registered agent offices hold hundreds of companies. One address returns all of them, every suite included.

{
"streetAddresses": ["10220 W State Road 84"],
"maxItems": 200
}

Finish a search you started on Sunbiz

Searched Sunbiz in your browser and stopped at page 3? Paste the link of the list, first page or any later one: the run carries on from there and reads every company page behind it.

{
"startUrls": [
{ "url": "https://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/CorporationSearch/SearchResults?inquiryType=EntityName&searchTerm=disney" }
],
"maxItems": 100
}

Track the standing of your accounts every month

Save your customers' document numbers in a task and schedule it monthly. Compare status, lastEvent and lastAnnualReportYear with the previous run: an administrative dissolution or a missed annual report shows up the month it is filed.

{
"companyIds": ["L11000136827", "N14993", "L23000293959", "M22000004323"],
"status": "all"
}

FAQ

What is Sunbiz? Sunbiz (sunbiz.org) is the website of the Florida Division of Corporations, part of the Florida Department of State. It holds the official public record of every company formed or registered in Florida: limited liability companies, profit and non-profit corporations, limited partnerships, and companies from other states or countries registered to do business in Florida.

Do I need a Sunbiz account or an API key? No. Sunbiz is a public register and the actor reads the same pages anyone can open in a browser. No login, no API key.

How does the name search work? Sunbiz lists names in alphabetical order, ignoring words like The, Of, Company, Corporation, Inc. and LLC. The actor reads that list from the first name that starts with your words to the last one, so coffee returns Coffee, Inc., Coffee & Co, LLC and Coffee 2 Go, LLC, and stops where the names stop starting with Coffee. A broad word holds thousands of companies: set maxItems to what you need.

How fresh is the data? Every run reads Sunbiz live, at the moment it runs, so a row shows what Sunbiz shows that day: a new company or an annual report appears in the first run after Sunbiz posts it. Nothing comes from a cache.

Does it include emails or phone numbers? No. Sunbiz does not publish them, so no row carries them. You get the people who run each company, with their title, and the principal, mailing and registered agent addresses, which is what direct mail and most enrichment tools start from.

Why are some names from the Sunbiz list missing from my results? A Sunbiz name list also shows trademarks, rejected filings and name reservations, which are not companies; the run leaves them out and says how many in the log. A company listed several times (under a former name, or once per role in an officer search) appears once. With status set to active or inactive, companies of the other status are left out too.

Can I search several names, numbers and people in one run? Yes. Put as many entries as you like in each field and mix the fields: names, numbers, officers, ZIP codes, addresses and URLs all run in the same job. maxItems applies to each entry on its own, and a company found by two entries is delivered once.

How many companies can I get? There is no fixed limit. maxItems (100 by default) is the most companies each entry returns, and the run stops reading as soon as it is reached. A name like coffee or a busy ZIP code holds thousands of companies; a document number returns one.

Are the links permanent? Yes. url is built from the document number and opens the same company page later, and the pdfUrl links open the filing images on Sunbiz. The document number itself never changes, so it is the key to match a company across runs.

Why does an officer's address look incomplete? Addresses are delivered exactly as the company filed them. Some filings leave out the ZIP code or put the state where the city goes; the row keeps what Sunbiz shows instead of guessing.

Does it cover fictitious names (DBAs) or trademarks? No. This actor reads company records. Fictitious name registrations and trademarks live in other Sunbiz registers and are left out of the results.

This Actor extracts publicly available data from Sunbiz (search.sunbiz.org), the public company register of the Florida Division of Corporations. It does not bypass any login, paywall, or CAPTCHA. Users are responsible for complying with the Florida Department of State's terms of use and applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, and PIPL where relevant). The records name officers, managers and registered agents, often private individuals with their address: handle that personal data accordingly, for a legitimate purpose, and respect opt-out requests in direct marketing. The data returned is informational; for an official certificate of status, order one from the Florida Division of Corporations.
